Jay-Z & The Palladium Re-Opening
Thanks to a very gracious but camera-shy friend, I attended the re-opening of the legendary Hollywood Palladium. Back in Hollywood's Golden Era, the Palladium hosted icons like Frank Sinatra, while starlets like Marilyn Monroe swooned in the audience. Now in Hollywood's Platinum Era, renovation was the theme of the night. Backed by a 12-piece band and a newly renovated DJ AM, it was only fitting that Jay-Z, the king of renovation and reinvention, be the first to grace the stage of the newly renovated theatre. Yup, renovation. Celebrities streamed down the red carpet and packed the upper balconies like shiny can of sardines, all to witness this moment of musical history.

I lost all sense of decorum and went completely ape shit, chasing him to the bar and flagging him down to tell him he is amazing, how happy I am for his healed knee, and that I will see him very soon at the first home game. He did not let me take a picture with him, but this is what i was able to snatch:
