I Made Organic Guacamole

One of the perks of living in my neighborhood is that I don't have to circle the block on Saturday mornings trying to find parking for the Silverlake Farmers Market. Because it's right across the street from my apartment! I will be honest with you; Saturday is my sleep-in day, so I don't fully take advantage of the farmers market as often as I should. All the tents seem to be packing up by the time I roll out of bed and line up at Intelligentsia at 2pm.

This past weekend, I woke up early and walked over...and found amazing organic avocados. And then it was on. We were making guacamole using this Alton Brown recipe.

Since the avocados were organic, we decided that the rest of the ingredients should get with the program and be organic too. Great excuse to go to the gigantor Whole Foods in Glendale!

Le Avocado. I need a beer to take the edge off when I "cook", because I get really nervous.
Booooom! Guacamolemolemole! I went lighter on the onions, and heavied up on the cilantro. I also think that the recipe should call for more salt and more than 1 lime. But all in all, very very delicious. Fact checking here, do you know if putting the avocado pits in the guacamole preserves the greenness longer? That's what I had heard.
Also picked up ceviche from Whole Foods, which I will never purchase again. It looks better than it tastes, folks. Lesson learned.

Ooh hey, you're drinking Blue Moon! That's the beer my ex-boyfriend kept raving about drinking back in Minnesota. Since you like the beer, it means you like my ex so it's over between us bech.

Of course I'm kidding.

The 'cados look great! I love those boxed organic cumin and cayenne pepper. Did it cost you a Whole Paycheck to buy those? :)

Totally random but I just heard someone fart really loud in the washroom. :)

Yummers! Avocados are my favorite thing to eat on planet Earth, so I'm obviously a huge fan of guacamole. This looks delicious!

I too sleep waaaaaay to late on Saturday and I'm trying to fix that. That's too bad about the ceviche you got a Whole Foods. If you think Glendale is gigantor, you've got to go my favorite one on Arroyo Parkway in Pasadena.
