On why you should have straight bangs.

Why are blunt bangs so rampant in the streets lately? It might possibly be a fad, the cool thing to do like studding your bra straps and shredding your leggings. OR. It is a cost savings tactic. For all intents and purposes I tend towards the latter. The other day whilst trimming my bangs (steadily improving at this skill, though i'm still nowhere near being good so don't judge me) i came up with a few great reasons to have bangs. girls who have bangs, don't get mad that i'm revealing our greatest secrets. but here they are:

1. easy maintenance. it's a good way to have a style without it being so involved. i save lots of time in the morning and according to the laws of econ101, TIME=MONEY.

2. you use less makeup. makeup is really expensive, and when you have bangs, you really don't have to apply makeup on the top 1/3 of your face since your bangs cover that part anyway. so that $50 tinted moisturizer you love will last and last. very key.

3. less eyebrow maintenace! probably the hugest secret, but i'll tell you anyway. since bangs cover the eyebrows, you have the freedom to ease up a little on your waxing/threading schedule. not saying you shouldn't maintain, but maybe you only get threaded every 6 weeks instead of every 3 weeks. it frees up time to do other things like running businesses, conquering the world, curing cancer etc.

Sweet Disposition

Omg. So I went through 30 minutes of crisis, when I thought that I had misplaced my makeup bag. Superficial, sure. But by my quick calculations, I had appraised the tiny pouch and its contents at about $200. Not fun to have to replace. Anyway I found my makeup bag lodge under my driver's seat, so I was thankfully spared from the replacement expense. Phew.

What's in your make up bag?

Make Up Forever

I am that girl in Sephora going up and down each aisle, trying on every perfume and testing every lipgloss. Lately, I will literally spend hours there marveling at the meelllions of shiny beauty products on the shelves, trying to figure out what each thing does.

Anyway, I have a new discovery to share. MAKE UP FOREVER's HD Microperfecting Primer in Green. You see, I have a problem with redness, because I'm really pale and you can see straight through to my blood cells. I need to tell you quickly that this concealer saves LIVES. I'm pretty sure it does. You just dab a little bit on your face after you put on moisturizer, and the green pigmentation cancels out the redness. It's a little pricey $32, but since you don't need a lot per usage, it should last a year or two...

Does anyone else have redness problems? What do you use?

Eyelashes

Historically, I was your above average tom boy. Sneakers, basketball shorts, sports, guy friends, eating contests, the works. My mom basically had to beat me into a dress and those gawd awful ruffley socks. It wasn't until a couple years ago that I started wearing dresses, buying heels, or curling my hair by choice. And then there's beauty products. Liiike what is that even. But in tranforming into a girlier Sam, I will share with you my adventures down the beauty aisle. Because even I know that only 5% of the myriad bottles and tubes even work. So it is up to us to share our first hand experiences with our fellow females.

First project: EYELASHES. I find that I only need to spend $5 on mascara, what with the drying out, not to mention the excellent selection of drug store products. but recently I made a couple of larger investments towards my eyelashes.


I have sparse eyelashes, probably from rubbing my eyes too much as a child. So I tried Talika Lipocils, which is a clear gel you apply to your lashes like you would any mascara. It's made with ingredients that promote eyelash growth, guaranteeing results in 28 days. It sounds like a crock full of shit, but I can attest that it is really working for me! I'm at day 21, and I have noticed that my lashes are longer and look fuller.



The taming of the Shu. People rave about this hunk of twisted shiny metal, but I've always resisted buying into the designer Shu Uemura eyelash curler. However Sephora managed to break me down, and I rationalized that as long as I don't lose the curler, it's $19 I will never have to spend again. And O. to the M. G. it is exceptional. It is money well spent! The curl is amazing!
